Misread. Mislead?

I may be one of the few (or the only one with no life) who ever visited my university's Malaysian made website. And I noticed a few disparity between the university currently and the university that is depicted in the website.

  1. Some of the information and pictures in the gallery are outdated.
  2. Wrong, misleading information. For instance:
That is NOT Hostel N5. THAT is an abandoned supposed stomatology building adjacent to the university. The hostel doesn't look anything like that. They make it look like it's Hilton hotel. Big laugh.

From my perspective, the building has potential. The building looks complete, but it hasn't been used once in the past 5 years I've stayed here. Probably longer. I don't understand why they abandoned the project. I would loved it if is one of the medical faculty's academic buildings. It has more space than the current university is providing for the growing numbers of students. Lack of fundings, perhaps?

I found this picture in the gallery. This picture is 4 ½ years old back when I was still in preparatory faculty. We had a new students get together in a new Turkish restaurant.

I was surprised to see this picture with familiar faces.
So I thought I would like to point them out. Perez Hilton style.
I'm somewhere in the far back. Ha Ha.

The caption read "Students at cafeteria". It is me or it's like they're implying that the cafeteria is owned by the university?

Is this a perfect strategy to lure new students by giving them misleading (albeit outdated) information?

Get the facts right. The whole visit through the website is a horrible, horrible experience which leaves a permanent cringe-stamp on my face.

The dumbing down process

I have had excellent English vocabs back when I'm in secondary school. I wrote short stories, and my favourite part was creating this make believe people and describing their personalities in detail. I admit I wasn't much of a social butterfly, in fact, I was a recluse. So the improvements in my English vocabs were mostly due to reading books I borrowed from the library, and a book series from Francine Pascal called "Fearless". When majority of the students in my school would flock to the Malay books section during recess, I would be in the English section looking for books that I haven't read.  I borrowed 2-3 books in a day, and could return them the very next day. I can get thrills from reading fictions.

If I ever talk my classmates or any of my schoolmates -- being the considerate person that I am -- I refrained from using big English words, 'cause I have confused many of them and I have been told that I've had been looked upon as pompous and arrogant.

When I came here, there are less English literature for me to devour, just medical textbooks that never seem to be of any use, except that thick Physiology book by Guyton, which unfortunately that I didn't have for the rest of 3rd year. By then in Kursk, I've been surrounded by "-lah""meh""mah""hor""ya meh?""dis my wan or your wan?". I'm not saying it's a degradatory thing. It completely influenced me in a great way -- when my social skills are non-existent -- I'm not able to converse in good English without adding a bit of a Malay word in there and finish with a "lah". And instead of confirming to a question with a "Are you sure?" I would reply with "Ya meh?"

I can't even write a proper story nowadays! I've been reduced from a girl who has her imaginations and her stories to keep herself happy to a girl who only has good imaginations.

How lah~?

-- Woes and worries of a hyperimaginative lass

On another note: I stumbled on a girl's profile and her profile name is (shall remain nameless)
---- d3 cRazy gurlzz!!
COME ON! gurlzz? You are only 1 person! Your English is atrocious! I don't know whether to laugh or to quell my chicken salad from escaping my esophagus.

... sorry. Bitchy mood.

Avant-garde (?)

I've become even more dazed, my expression looked glazed over, placcid, my mind feels like it's doing hospscotch in superspeed, my vision becomes a tunnel and my behaviour grew eccentric in an alarming way. I can't form sentences correctly anymore. Maybe I have some sort of a neuropathy that I'm not aware of.

I miss...

I miss having quiet mornings.
I miss having to do whatever I want to do.
I miss having good laughs over good food surrounded by good friends.

Starting from today the bus fare went from being 6/7 rubles (1rm) to 8/9/10 rubles. Unfair? It so is! It's not an April fool's joke, cause Russians don't joke about these things. Why the hike up in prices?

I remember before I first came here, my dad consulted a senior who was studying here in KSMU about living expenses. She told my dad that 500rm was enough to survive for a month. (though actually it was still insufficient) 5 years living in Russia and we've seen prices hiked up. 500rm was just enough to survive half a month for me.

Thank God we've passed the April Fool's Day phase. I think it's too childish and immature.

-.- bencinye angin sejuk~~

Canta adagio...

I heard that JPA will come here to conduct interviews to the soon-to-be graduates. And I heard that we are to talk completely in BM. Even when BM is my mother tongue, I can't put together full conversation in correct BM for shit. Correct BM = Formal BM? Rojak BM campur-campur BI boleh lah. Haha...

Anyways, I watched "Kami" a Malaysian TV series by 8tv. It is soooo goood. Usually my eyes and ears would bleed even before I attempt to watch a Malay tv series, but THIS is unique, and got me totally hooked.

Lazy to elaborate more -- gotta study for Obs AND my internet is running 1mb per min! Eek. Ja-ne!

Pre-exam limbo

As a result of the sleepless night, I went into WAP and update my phone etc. etc. -- BIG MISTAKE. Wasted half my credit and my phone battery and thus, my phone/alarm clock died. I have to thank my dreams for waking me up an hour before my last class (=major control). An hour is not always sufficient for me. Have to keep that in mind. My tardiness is a disease. :/

Came into class about 10 min late (I think) to write a short control without anybody supervising (or rather watching) the class. Finished early, got my credits and I'm home free ~ only to find out half way from walking (a long way) to the bus stop that I left my notes in the class. Yeah, Nad. Classic klutz, you are.

Went home only to find out that my roomate doesn't even want to stay in with me. And I let the roomie take my housekey (we share it) while the roomie goes out and enjoy. 10 minutes later, it's still noon, I have to slap myself to let myself trapped in the apartment with no escape route. Yeah, Nad. Classic retard, you are.

After reading manga till my eyes bleed, I am fekking bored. Exams are just days away, and I wonder when I'm gonna snap out of this limbo.

My Little Pine Tree

I celebrate Christmas for the purpose of getting together with my friends and strengthening the ties with home made cooking. Someone didn't agree with me in the "food and good relationship" part, because the person thinks that a relationship between peers don't need to be strengthened by food. I think otherwise. You gather people in a room with food, and they are obligated to talk or rather not hold anything back. From there you get laughter and happiness (aside from some probable hickups, but we are just human) Food = good relationship.

Didn't expect presents but I got myself 3 pairs of attractive socks (well one was considered to be a legging but socks nevertheless. Finally got new socks because most of mine are riddled with holes. And a little pine tree. I should go hunt for little ornaments to hang on the branches next. To Yuterra in Manezh (OMG newshoppingmallwithattractiveshopsiloveit OMGOMG), maybe.

I love the lush green.

Amaretto Lime

Studying overseas when English is not a spoken language (not even the 2nd!) isn't so glamorous after all. Today I had therapy cycle. Our instructor (who is also the head of department) told us to follow him to see patients. So I'm thinking, "Yay! Finally some action" and it turns out that he lead us all the way to a surgeon's office to finalise a diagnosis on a certain patient. I tell you, after 3 and a half years learning the Russian Language, I still can't talk the language normally
and I can only understand if spoken slowly. So, the good doctors were discussing and debating in rapid speed -- I couldn't catch up. It's exciting to be in a room with doctors but I think we were left out. I mean, we didn't understand what was it about until we asked about it at the end of the class. I always liked the series House especially the part where they were putting the diagnosis. And I *secretly* wanted to be in that situation (medical knowledge fully equiped and all) but it's never going to happen here. Unless of course, if I'm going to do my summer electives. Which leads to the question, "Where should I do my summer electives?"

Brunei -- kinda out of the question. Because 1) I'm not being serious and focused there because 2) the last elective I did I was the only student in that department. So, place options: KK (Sabah) or JB. I'm leaning towards KK because I don't even know if I can reach the hospital in JB in time because of the traffic jam. Killer. And I don't even know if anybody can even send me there! So, KK. Question is, where would I live in KK? *shakes head* This is hard...

I had a terrible day today. It wasn't like that in the morning. It was okay-ish until the afternoon. Heh, when tragedy struck. That person have ways to ruin a normal day.

So. Amaretto Lime. Better than naddbunny ain't it? I was listening to Soco Amaretto Lime
from Brand New and I just took the name. Speaking of Brand New, I always loved the song "Limousine" but I didn't know what was it about. So I checked it up online. It was actually
based on a true story.

Brand New is AWESOME. The third album, The Devil and God Are Raging Inside
Of Me is AWESOME!

Phew, from classes, summer electives, my day, to Brand New. My mind must have been in full swing since I woke up this evening after a day full of drama.
