Person of a few words.

Moscow trip was exhilarating. Went to a lot of places. Took a lot of pictures. Saw a lot of things.

For valentines, Mr. Valentine gave me a rose and brought me to our favorite restaurant. I know this will sound corny, but this is my first time celebrating Valentine's Day appropriately. Though it wasn't much, it was everything I had hoped for.

For pictures, have a look see in my flickr. Because I can't be bothered uploading them two times.

All I want to do now is curl up under my comforter watching movies til it's time to play Left 4 Dead.

Syawal

Selamat Hari Raya! Forgive and forget, kan? Kan.

Finally did my last exam for 4th year Therapy, on the first day of Syawal. I had a short class, went to exam. Hope I pass it, cause I can't bear to think about sitting for it again soon.

On the eve of raya, Jazly and I cooked kuah kacang, ayam rendang, begedil, soto and nasi impit all from scratch. Simple dishes, but it was worth it. Had dinner the next day with Nishan, Darshla and their new lobbymate Zan. Had fun, shared stories, laughed so hard. Seriously, I don't know what to do without friends. Oh, and Icey. Had fun playing against him in scrabble yesterday. I feel good playing against a person who knows how to play scrabble by the rules (unlike some people *uhuk*) And I won! Yay! Good game...

Need to catch up on the curriculum, I haven't done a single summer elective examination because I lost the elective record book and had to get a new one. Have to finish up writing assignment for pediatrics by hand, finish up the summer elective diary log. I have to study up (a storm!) for pediatrics finals this saturday, finish up my atrabotka for E.N.T (because the atrabotka is tough!).. blah blah..

Raya is no fun without family and friends. Family, most important. Without them raya is like any other day. I miss them

Finally tasted the infamous burgers from American Saloon in Green. A wee bit pricey for a burger, but oh well, what to do? That's the only joint which make proper burgers ever sold in Kursk town. Sad, but true. True, and delicious. Yum.

Yesterday night, went out to eat in Tolstyak. Ate their pizzas which I absolutely love...to eat. Strolled along Lenin street in high heels (practicing for Raya function next week .. haha), adoring the night lights of Kursk, cooing starry-eyed at expensive motorcycle totting dudes speed racing from one end of Lenin street to the other *sigh*... I wish the weather would stay this way.

Can you imagine a world without burgers?

The meat from this sandwich is real steak. Nyaaaaaa~ The meat hits the spot. Yeah, the spot right between the crevices of my gums where my wisdom tooth is growing.

New diet plan, out the window. Tsk.

Oh, I received a homemade postcard from Teah, all the way from Singaland
Happy days.

bbq . 08

This is our family cat. Sort of. He's a stray but lately he comes around to our house for food. And for affection of which we happily oblige.

His name is Tiger. Aptly named for his Bengal stripes.

But I call him Tigger-happy. Why?

Because he looks happy and content just sleeping. Okay, maybe the name don't fit for such a lazy cat like him. I sometimes call him Cicak. While he sleeps. He sleeps 12 hours in a day, probably more. Huhuhu~

Today my family and I had barbecue for dinner. As usual I have to commandeer the whole squad, with my mom being the Genaral. Barbecueing is supposed to be a man's job right?! Oh, but I rocked it =p

So while preparing the food, Tigger-happy and his cute mom coined " Mak Cik Kembang" (Kembang for short) served as rubbish-dispensers chicken fat eliminators. T-H was too full tired helping us out in the kitchen that when we started the fire he was already dead sleeping like a log.

Like roadkill.

Ada sama kah?

I thank you for the wishes.
I love all of you!

Marcus's 22nd

After our 1st opthalmology class in Sadovaya, went to celebrate our dear Marcus's birthday in Dacha. It was my first time there, the ambience suits daytime eat out. I like the salad I ordered and the mashed potato is fluffy smooth. Yum...

10 years

My bestfriend turned 21 today. We knew each other since we were 9 and have been friends ever since we were 11.

It's a wonder how we lasted this long. She would have thought of the same thing, since both of us are unbearable people. It's a shame that I don't remember much of my childhood, and I'm glad she is the one helping me remember them. I'm sure we have our ups and downs. I remember this particular time when I called you a bitch in written form on your brother's desk for whatever reason I didn't remember, and back then it was a huge deal. It was so childish of me when I think about it today. I think I have a knack of pushing people away back then - which always ended in a disaster.

Oh my, how the years have passed. As cheesy as this will sound, I'm glad you are my friend.

Happy birthday Teah!

My 2007

... can be summed up to be a horrible one. And my attempts to make the last day of the year with him turned out to be a disaster. I don't know why I bothered.

But yesterday was a blast. We had a get together and I felt like I haven't talked and laughed out sincerely for days. More importantly, I gained a friend whom I never thought could be one. And when they all left, I felt like a hole bored into me. I never knew having people around can be so addictive.

Summary of the year? Too many bad things happened compared to good ones.

Resolutions? To be a better person.

Happy New Year!

I'm glad I came to the raya function. My cheeks hurt from all the laughing and smiling. It's a good change. Can you believe this is the 1st raya I celebrated this year? I finally had a chance to wear my baju raya my mom made for me. Now I feel less guilty.

Going to rehab

Well, not actually going to be admitted into one. I went there for a field trip for physiotherapy class. I never realised it was a field trip until I reached there. It was far from town, and we had to stop in the middle of nowhere and walk further in. T'was cold! But! We are never too young for a field trip. =)

Translation: Regional Socio-medical Rehabilitation Center.
It's not a rehab center for drug abusers like you think. This rehab center provides physiotherapeutical and psychological treatment for adults and children alike with problems with hearing, osteal deformities, etc etc ... (congenital and acquired). And the patients who are deferred from the hospital to here get treatments (SPA treatment and massage!) for free.

Like this futuristic egg-looking bed provides a treatment called an "Alpha Spa". You just lie in there and your whole body gets warm and massaged while listening to soothing music and get whiffed with aromatherapy. I heard this thing is very expensive and is not available even in regular spas (maybe in Kursk only). Apparently, a regular treatment with this stuff can curb your addiction to smoking (and maybe alcohol)

This treatment is called Hydrotherapy. I call it a jacuzzi. Beautiful.
Water + Warmth = Bliss

Eid Mubarak

Today is Eid!
I pray that even some people all around the world are suffering from their region's conflict, I do hope no one will die from their wars -- and just rejoice the day. Feeling optimistic, I know... I'm just estatic from today's events.

I RULE in today's powerpoint presentation for Hygiene class. Our class had to be combined with 2 other groups. My presentation was short, straight to the point, simple, not to mention -- total eyecandy. I have pictures and stuff (haha). I was afraid that when I read I would fumble with words and then just collapse with anxiety. I did fumble a little, but I did okay. I finished with a flourish. He gave me an excellent mark for it. Eventhough I didn't make a printout like it's supposed to be, but he told me my presentation already satisfied him and a printout is not necessary. Good Day!!! I do apologise for this brag-fest. ;)

Went to Sadovaya Radiological department to take my zachut book (it's like a exam book report card...without the comments) I got a good mark (4) for my radiology exam! Oh God Bless the world!

Eid Mubarak everyone!

"I'll have the lamb skank, please"

Vie's birthday was yesterday on the 30th August, but Teah and I weren't able to abduct her to go joyriding in my soccer mom wagon for her birthday celebration because Vie wasn't free on that day.

Today however, was the best day of my life, as yet (as quoted by Homer Simpson). Went to Capers, an Italian restaurant in Kiulap. I love the decor and the food was scrumptuous. Food portions are equally same as the Italian Cafe back in Kursk, so I was completely stuffed. We spent around hilarious 15 minutes looking through the menu, making fun of foreign sounding words and pronouncing names like Ravioli Al Funghi and Ring-a-ding-a-ling (sorry, that's a swensens menu.. but I love pronouncing it just for fun) . I mistakenly called Lamb (something-something) SKANK when it should have been shank.

I ordered:

Insalata Mistro. Salad with grilled auburgine, fresh tomatoes, olives, onions, and cucumbers. The auburgine is quite salty and they drizzled a bit too much olive oil.

Penne Arabiatto Pollo. Penne with grilled chicken. Quite spicy as there is those hot green chilis hidden under all the pasta. Didn't associate "Arabiatto" to be very spicy until I acciddently bite on a piece of green chilli and let the toxic juice seep onto my tongue.

Caper's Chocholate Salami. A scoop of vanilla ice cream with Pistachio, Cherries, Marshmellow etcetera etcetera topped with whip cream and chocolate syrup... I wondered why it is called Salami. Isn't that supposed to be a meat variety?

Rush all the way to The Mall, Gadong (that is so clichéd) to catch The Simpsons Movie at the Cineplex. Got into an embarassing debacle with the elevator. I got used to the fact in Russia, the ground floor of a building is the 1st floor and the 1st floor is the 2nd floor etcetera. The Cineplex is actually on the 3rd floor, but I had thought it was on the Russian 4th floor. The 4th floor in that building is a hotel which requires a card to go to, so I pressed the 4th floor a couple of times thinking the button was broken because it wasn't lit. 2 people went in the elevator after that and pressed the 3rd floor button which afterwards lit up. I had a good embarrased laugh and glared playfully but menacingly at Teah who didn't correct me (Didn't blame anybody ok!) We went in a bit late and missed 5 minutes. The movie is hilarious!

Grabbed an iced mocha in Swensen's again (for going 3 times in 7 days).

Went back to car and surprised Vie with her birthday gift -- a shark hand puppet (courtesy by Teah) and a no-idea-what-it-is black cat figurine which turns out either to be a paperclip disposer or a handphone holder (given by clueless me). Gave her the cute home-made card that I made (kambang sudah eh...) even before we wished her a happy belated birthday and apologised that we had nothing to give.

Sent Vie home and met her cute sleeping nephew. He's so adorable when he sleeps! Then sent Teah home and ran away with The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot (which she claims is hilarious), The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides and The Contortionist's Handbook by Craig Clevenger.

Read The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. It's my favourite.

My shoe crime

My new digicam : Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W55. Yes, it's pink! I meant to buy the black model 'cause it looks damn sleek. Too bad the color black is not available. Gave my old Nikon CoolPix to my younger brother who is even happier to receive it. 7.2 Megapixels and 2.5 inch screen. My new digicam is even way better than Nikon's 3.2 Megapixels and 1.5 inch screen.

Dad is unpredictable. I can never tell what he's willing to buy for me.

Next: External Hardisk, Wrist watch, PSP games

Oh no she didn't...

It's my 2nd younger brother's birthday today. He's eleven. He's a bit miffed because he wanted his birthday celebrated in Swenson's.

My summer room. The room in its best state.
Okay, second best.

Bought Rihanna's Good girl gone bad and Ne-yo's Because of you. $2 a piece. I'm shameful to say that it's worth buying albums cheap. Because in the end I regretted buying them. They're not even my type of music, I don't know why I bought it in the first place. Though, I really like Ne-yo's Because of you (single). T'was addictive.

Watched Transformers. I'm smitten. Awesome. Need to buy clear copy DVD.

The Dog Show

The reason why I like to go to this country's dog show is not just for the sole purpose of cooing at cute looking dogs, but they show species that I've never seen before. For example:

I mean, I've never seen this kind of species before. It looks like a bear/sasquatch, right?

This dog is huge. Cute ain't it? I have no idea what species this is.

This lady is kind enough to pose with her poodle.

The day gives me a chance to take a picture in front of the university. It's a cold windy day~

I want more holidays!

The new single from Maroon 5 - Makes me wonder makes me happy, although what Adam sings strikes a chord.
